Your Village Hall in Utkinton
In April 2022 our venerable hall celebrated its 100th birthday with a bit of a ‘bash’ to commemorate the date. In looking to the past we also need to look to the future and, as we emerge from the cocoon that was ‘lockdown’ we need to think about what the hall is used for and would like your help.
Of course we have courses and classes and the Hall is home to Utkinton Women’s Institute, half the year it is home to the Parish Council and also the Hall Management Committee, but what would you like to see the hall used for?
We currently host Pilates, Karate, Yoga, Country Dance, a Toddler Group and one or two less frequent classes including monthly Police Surgeries. There is a kitchen, there are toilets, a storeroom, indoor table-tennis and we have Broadband plus the multi-sport court that has been there since 2003 residents are able to play tennis, netball, basketball and soft football. In the past the hall had a stage and an indoor badminton court too.
Some of our groups and activities

Recently we acquired a projector and are putting together a sound system that will enable residents and groups to show presentations and movies (which we will apply for licences).
In previous years we hosed a quiz night and were co-organisers of the annual Utkinton Garden Fete at ‘Tirley Garth’ along with the WI and Utkinton St Paul’s CofE Primary. The Hall Committee also run the ‘Utkinton Members Club’, a monthly draw that benefits the hall funds as well as the winners.
This year the Committee applied for a ‘warm spaces grants and were awarded just enough to run community sessions until the end of March.
Outside we have off-road parking for 6-8 cars (dependent on parking ‘prettily’) and local streets can sometimes provide additional spaces.
Below you will find a link to an online survey we we ran via JotForm to try and gauge residents views on what you would like to see there.
